Prescription Drug Drop-Off – Get rid of expired, unwanted or unused medicines.  Bring them to the Bridgewater Shoppers Drug Mart between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.  Hosted by Lunenburg County Crime Prevention Association.

Church Fundraising Breakfast at St. Martin’s Anglican Church Hall, 7526 Hwy 3, Martin’s River from 7:00 to 11:00 am. Enjoy scrambled eggs, pancakes, baked beans, hash browns, bacon, sausage, toast, tea, coffee, juice. Adults $8, Children (5-12 years) $4 and under 5 years are free. Take-outs are available. Proceeds for St. Martin’s Church.

 

Breakfast at the Chester Legion from 7:30 to 10:30 am.  Enjoy eggs (any way you like them), French toast, hash browns, beans, bacon, sausage, toast, tea/coffee and juice.

 

Ticket Auction at the Forties Community Centre, 1787 Forties Road, New Ross. Doors open at 12:00 noon.  Draws begin 2:00 pm. Canteen available. Proceeds for the St. Augustine Anglican Church and the Forties United Baptist Church.

 

3rd Annual Harvest Jam Kitchen Party at the Chester Legion from 5:00 pm to midnight.  Ingredients:  Music, dancing, great eats, raffles & silent auctions.  5:00 pm Studio Singers; 5:30 pm Oasis Belly Dancers; 6:00 pm Denis Ryan & Tony Quinn; 7:00 pm Dirty Dougie & the Divine Dandies; 8:00 pm Kevin Koloff & Gypsy Minstrels; 9:00 pm The Klunkers; 10:00 pm The Parsons Brothers and 11:00 pm Cut Split & Delivered.  Tickets $10 per person/$20 per family (parents with kids under 12).  Tickets available at the door or all MODC Pharmasaves.

 

Annual Dinner Theatre at the Little Red School, Canaan.  “Fixin’ to get Hitched” featuring The Accidental Actors.  Tickets $25.  Doors open 5:30 pm and show starts 6:30 pm.  Menu:  Salad, Roast Beef and all the trimmings and dessert.  Limited seating.  To reserve ticket’s call Maxine 902-275-3496 or Muriel 902-275-3667.  Proceeds for Three Local Churches.

 

Trivia Night at the Chester Basin Legion from 6:30 to 9:00 pm.  Have you ever been told that your head is full of useless information? Well maybe it is not so useless. Blandford & Area Historical Society meeting at the District #1 Community Centre, Blandford, 30 Firehall Road starting 7:00 pm.  Guest Speaker: Cheryl Levy, PLCGS, of Footprints to Heritage, is a graduate of the National Institute for Genealogical Studies, having earned Professional Learning Certificates for Methodology and Canadian Records.  Have you discovered your immigrant ancestors’ country of origin?  What factors compelled them to leave their homeland behind with everything that was familiar, to make the life-changing decision to move their families to a strange new land?  Did they move again after they arrived?  These are just a few of the questions to answer as we research our earliest Canadian ancestors.

Halloween Dance at the New Ross Firehall from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am.  Doors open 8:45 pm.  Music by Short Notice.  Tickets $10 and available at Barry Russell’s Service Station starting October 7.  Prizes will be awarded for:  Most Original, Most Humorous and Most Artistic.  The judging will take place at 10:15 pm.  Everyone 19 years and older.

Newfie Breakfast at the Chester Basin Legion, 25 Hwy 12 (Exit 9 off Hwy 103) from 7:30 to 10:30 am.  Enjoy home-made beans, fishcakes, from scratch pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns, fried ham or bologna, toast or homemade biscuit, juice, tea and coffee.  Costs $8. Annual Bake sale.  Take-out available.

 

Waffle Breakfast at the Chester Basin Fire Department (5430 Hwy 3) from 8:00 to 11:00 am.  Cost $5.  Serving waffles with delicious toppings!  Children are welcome to come in costume to join the firefighters for breakfast and Halloween crafts!  Treat bags for the children!

 

Cod Fish Supper at the District #1 Community Centre, Blandford, 30 Firehall Road, from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.  Enjoy Salt Codfish, Potatoes, Pork Rinds, Onions, Turnips, Rolls, Pickles, Dessert & Tea/Coffee, juice.
